On 20th December, I am going to give a seminar on music information retrieval (invited by Hüseyin Hacıhabiboğlu) in Middle East Technical University as part of the research seminars given in the Multimedia Informatics Program. The talk will take place at 11:30 in Conference Room (124) of the Informatics Institute (announcement).
In the 16th International Society for Music Information Retrieval Conference (ISMIR 2015), Málaga, Spain, two papers titled, which I have been involved with, will be presented. The titles of the papers are “A tool for the analysis and discovery of Ottoman-Turkish makam music” and “Searching lyrical phrases in a-capella Turkish makam recordings,” respectively.
I am invited by Darrell Conklin to give a talk about “Symbolic analysis of Ottoman-Turkish makam music” in Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU (Donostia – San Sebastián, Spain). The talk will take place in 30 June 2015.
In the 5th International Workshop of Folk Music Analysis (FMA 2015), Paris, France, two papers titled “A Culture-Specific Analysis Software for Makam Music Traditions” and “A Method for Tonic Frequency Identification of Turkish Makam Music Recordings,” which I have contributed, will be presented.
