2 Papers in FMA 2015

In the 5th International Workshop of Folk Music Analysis (FMA 2015), Paris, France, two papers titled “A Culture-Specific Analysis Software for Makam Music Traditions” and “A Method for Tonic Frequency Identification of Turkish Makam Music Recordings,” which I have contributed, will be presented.

The first paper describes a makam analysis tool name MakamBox and it’s  cross-cultural analysis capabilities. The second paper introduces a simple and novel tonic identification methodology for makam music, which outperforms  the state-of-the-art. The workshop takes place between 10 and 12 June 2015.
