I am invited by Darrell Conklin to give a talk about “Symbolic analysis of Ottoman-Turkish makam music” in Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU (Donostia – San Sebastián, Spain). The talk will take place in 30 June 2015.
In this talk, I will make an overview of the state-of-the-art in symbolic analysis and modeling applied to Ottoman-Turkish makam music and other relevant music traditions. I will also discuss how the previous research can be extended for music generation, especially in transforming existing musical works, in the context of Ottoman-Turkish makam music.
The slides of the presentation can be found here.
